Messages from Our movement Narrative POwer Summit 2026
The Messages From Our Movement Narrative Power Summit will be a 2-day gathering for young people and youth advocates to connect with one another to sharpen skills, strategize, storytell, and build narrative power. In this current political moment, we are the narrators the movement needs to capture the lived experiences of our communities. We must come together to build narrative power; our communities deserve agency over the stories being told about us. Through narrative, we illustrate a world that is possible when we embrace youth as sacred.
We hope that you will join us for this youth power-building opportunity August 4th 3pm-8pm and 5th 8:30am-5:30pm, in Oakland. This event is cohosted by the California Alliance for Youth and Community Justice, also known as CAYCJ.
Limited financial support for travel and lodging is available for young people 14-25. If you are in need of financial assistance, please register by June 19th. *
Eager to support our storytelling?
Help build the space!
Ancestrally, we share stories around food or fire, but always in communion. In order to bring life to Messages From Our Movement Narrative Power Summit, we ask our community for support. Our work can never happen alone, and it is our powerful community members who sustain the change our future needs.

We urgently need to cultivate the deep, generative base of narrative power that can grow, iterate new ideas and messages, extend and repair bonds with communities, and collectively endure. We must hand build the infrastructure for our collective survival. We need to build it even as we are dismantling harmful deep narratives. The infrastructures we currently have in the nonprofit and philanthropic spaces are not sufficient. We need to build infrastructures that organize our collective narrative power. - The Forge
